Low Voltage Distribution Panel: What to Check Before Ordering
Sourcing a low voltage distribution panel? Learn what SLD, breaker, busbar, metering and outgoing circuit information to confirm before ordering.

What to Check Before Ordering a Low Voltage Distribution Panel
A low voltage distribution panel is not a standard product that can be selected by cabinet size alone. Breaker ratings, busbar configuration, metering, outgoing circuits and internal wiring all need to match the actual electrical system.
Description
A low voltage distribution panel provides centralized power distribution, circuit protection, switching and electrical monitoring within an industrial or commercial electrical system.
Specifications
Item | Available Configuration |
|---|---|
Product Type | Low Voltage Distribution Panel |
Incoming Breaker | According to project requirements |
Outgoing Circuits | Project-specific |
Metering | Can be included as required |
Busbar System | According to approved electrical design |
Internal Wiring | Based on electrical drawings |
Components | Selected according to project specification |
Cabinet Layout | Customized to equipment and installation requirements |
Final ratings and component specifications should be confirmed before production.
Applications
Low voltage distribution panels can be configured for:
- Industrial production facilities
- Commercial electrical distribution
- Machinery and equipment power distribution
- Infrastructure electrical projects
- Main and sub-distribution systems
Actual suitability depends on system voltage, load and project design.
For a more useful technical proposal, should provide the single-line diagram (SLD) whenever possible. If no drawing is available yet, provide the system voltage and frequency, incoming current or load capacity, number of outgoing circuits, required breaker ratings, metering requirements and installation conditions.
If specific component brands or models are required by the project, these should also be identified before quotation.
Breaker Size Is Not the Only Specification
A common sourcing mistake is focusing only on the main breaker rating.
For example, knowing the required incoming current does not define the complete panel. also needs to understand the outgoing distribution, protection requirements, busbar arrangement, cable entry and metering requirements.
The complete electrical system should determine the cabinet configuration—not the other way around.
What Should You Confirm Before Production?
Before manufacturing begins, confirm the single-line diagram, breaker schedule, component list, cabinet arrangement, incoming and outgoing cable requirements, metering scheme and applicable project specifications.
Component models shown in product photos should not automatically be assumed to be the configuration for every order. For customized electrical panels, the final bill of materials should follow the approved project documentation.
For a BOSTENE quotation, sending your SLD and basic electrical parameters is the most practical starting point. This allows the required distribution configuration to be reviewed before the final specification is agreed.
